| IGFBP-2

Insulin-like growth factor binding protein 2 (IGFBP-2) is a protein encoded by the IGFBP2 gene. The protein encoded by this gene can be secreted into the bloodstream, where it binds IGF-I and IGF-II with high affinity, or it can remain inside the cell, interacting with many different ligands. High expression levels of the protein promote the growth of several types of tumors and may predict a patient's chances of recovery. Several transcriptional variants of this gene have been found, one encoding secretory isomers and the others encoding non-secretory isomers.

The recovery of Human IGFBP-2 spiked at three different levels in samples throughout the range of the assay was evaluated in various matrices.

| Linearity

Samples were spiked with high concentrations of Human IGFBP-2 and diluted with Universal Diluent to produce samples with values within the range of the assay.
